The Block 2023 | Kyle and Leslie's Masterpiece: Celebrating Curves and Elegance in Bathroom Design

Studio Bathroom Week

In this week’s room reveal episode of The Block hosted by Channel 9, audiences were treated to a spectacle of incredible designs, but it was Kyle and Leslie's bathroom that truly captured our imagination, and took out the win.

With the largest bathroom to play with this week, the stakes were high, but the duo showcased not just their impeccable taste but also their adeptness at handling design challenges.

1. The Curve Appeal The moment of awe came as Shaynna stepped into the space and was swept away by the bathroom's curved ceiling. This masterstroke of design, intended to accentuate the high ceiling, added a sophisticated touch. The choice of the curve was not just bold but also smart, introducing a soft, undulating shape that enhanced the rooms spaciousness.

2. A Palette that Pops From the roofline to the room's depth, every inch echoed a meticulously chosen and timeless colour palette. From the gunmetal tapware and accessories, to the soft green vanity and grey feature tile, the interplay of tones created a striking atmosphere, and each shade complemented the other perfectly, making the entire space pop with warmth and elegance.

3. Symmetery in Layout Beyond the aesthetic wonders, Kyle and Leslie showed their knack for perfecting layout dynamics. The harmonious spacing of the shower recess, vanity, and toilet rendered a sense of proportion that was both functional and visually appealing.

4. Round in Details Every detail in the bathroom echoed the theme of curves. The gunmetal tapware, shaped in pleasing round forms, paired wonderfully with curved mirrors and basins. Even the vanity doors didn't shy away from flaunting a curved finish. These consistent details tied the room together.

5. Wall Features and Tiling Mastery The walls didn't just support; they starred! With feature panelling chosen for the walls, they became canvases telling tales of luxury. The neutral mosaic tiles in the shower and the gentle feature floor tiles added texture and depth, offering a tactile experience to anyone in the space.

Judge Shaynna Blaze's praises summed it up perfectly: "The feel, the functionality, the wow factor, and it's unique," she exclaimed.
