After installing Engineered Flooring, you can walk on your new floors immediately. If you have installed raw timber flooring, you will need to allow for polishing and curation time, which can take up to 5 days.

Installing engineered flooring can be simple however we also recommend engaging with a professional flooring layer to ensure installation is correct.

Yes! Timber floors are commonly painted, stained and coated in polyurethane. However, you must check the compatibility of the timber with the paint, as some timbers naturally have a high oil content that can affect its coating. The Genuine Oak Raw timber is best for this application.

Floating engineered flooring refers to a type of timber floorboard that does not need to be nailed or glued to the surface layer. Floating floors often operate with a tongue and groove, which click together, making the installation process quick & easy.

One disadvantage to floating floorboards is that is cannot be easily sanded or polished.

While you can lay timber flooring over tiles, there are some things to consider before doing this.

1. If the original layer of tiles come loose, this can potentially damage your new flooring.

2. Tiles are rarely laid perfectly flat, meaning there could be some hollow areas.

3. Glue can become loose over time between tile and timber. To avoid this, clean your tiles with methylated spirits and lightly sand back to ensure the glue can bond.

Yes, engineered timber is real timber. The top layer (also known as the 'wear layer'), is genuine solid wood, and may be anything from 0.6mm to 6mm thick. Therefore, it is confirmed that engineered timber flooring is genuine, real timber and will look no different from traditional solid timber floorboards.

We recommend using non-abrasive mops, such as a microfiber mop, this works to remove debris and dust without damaging your new flooring. Try to use damp mops and nothing excessively wet. Too much moisture can cause damage to the planks, such as warping.
