The New Way To Sample Paint

A Guide To
Sampling Colours

Say so long to messy sample pots and swatch cards, and say hello to all new sample stickers by Tint. Sample stickers take the fuss out of the selection process with their large coverage and easy to remove & reuse technology, ready to be placed all throughout your home.

Make the Most With Sample Stickers

1. Make a plan. Before you place your new Sample Stickers on any wall, take note of what furniture and design pieces you plan on keeping and make note of what colours work well with these.

2. When it comes time to stick, keep it at eye level! This will make it easier to view and remove later.

3. Do the day test. What this means is to leave the stickers on throughout the day to see what different lighting may make the colour appear. The warmth of natural light will change as the sun moves and turning the lights off & on will also make a difference.
4. Light and objects will influence colour. Colour can reflect the space it is in. For example, if you put a white wall opposite a large orange artwork, the white may look a little more orange. Here are a few more elements that can influence colour: light types (LED, halogen, lamp shades), things inside a room (rugs, feature walls, furniture) and things outside a room (trees, surrounding houses and cars).

5. Play around and move your stickers. As we kick sample pots to the curb, you now have the flexibility to peel off your colour swatch and place it in different areas of your space. Really make the most of them! We also recommend moving them from the brightest part to the darkest part of your room as well as comparing them next to cupboards, furniture or artworks.

6. Trust your eye. If you naturally gravitate towards a test colour, then back yourself. You know your space, and you know what you like. What you're leaning towards will be right! And if you really feel like you’ve made a mistake (highly doubtful), it’s nothing that another coat of paint can't fix right?
